Automatic Creation of iCal Invitations will be Disabled
What’s Changing
To streamline our operations and reduce unnecessary notifications, we are disabling certain automatic iCal invitations. Specifically, iCal events for warranty tasks and tasks to subcontractors and suppliers from schedules will no longer be sent. Any creation or update of these tasks will not trigger new invitations or updates. Existing iCal events, however, will not be canceled, so we recommend you confirm start dates with your subcontractors and suppliers.
- Automatic iCal events for warranty and schedule tasks will be stopped.
- No new calendar invitations or updates will be sent for tasks to subcontractors and suppliers from schedules.
- Existing iCal events will not be canceled.
Who’s Impacted
This update impacts all users who deal with warranty tasks, subcontractor tasks, and supplier tasks from schedules.
Why it Matters
Too many notifications can become overwhelming and create confusion. By refining our automatic iCal invitation system, we aim to deliver the most pertinent information without sending invitations without overloading your partners’ inboxes. This allows you to focus more on the tasks at hand without worrying about accidentally sending a calendar invitation for a date that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Getting Started
Remember that existing iCal events will not be canceled even after this update. We recommend you confirm start dates with your subcontractors and suppliers to avoid any miscommunication. This feature does not require any end-user setting.
Rollout Pace
This update will be effective as of 27 June 2023 in the US and rolled out to AU and NZ users on 5 July 2023.
Roadmap
This change is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance your user experience and streamline system notifications. Stay tuned for more updates and improvements to our system.
