Coming Soon: Twilio integration replacing Nexmo and bi-directional SMS messaging

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

What’s changing

We’ve deprecated the Nexmo (Vonage API) service and replaced it with Twilio to allow us to send and receive SMS messages from clients in GJ5. These changes are currently visible under Setup > System Variables > Integration Accounts.

  • SMS is currently unavailable in Australia & New Zealand (as of 14/07/2021).
  • Twilio integration will be set up and managed by the Franchisor (Corporate Office).
  • Twilio is included in the monthly service charge for GJ5; Franchises may cancel their Nexmo subscriptions.

Who’s impacted

All offices in all regions.

Why you’d use it

Alone, SMS is a powerful engagement tool that allows you to send concise, timely messages to their clients. Combined with email, the two create a seamless customer communication experience that’s reliable, scalable, and downright powerful. Combine this with milestone events and you can automate many customer service touch points to engage and inform clients throughout their customer journey with G.J’s.

We’ve made big improvements the SMS functions in GJ5 such as adding the ability to send templated messages and we’re looking for new ways to innovate this functionality. In the coming months we’ll be addition additional functionality including receiving SMS messages inside of GJ5.

Getting started

Franchises: There is no end user setting for this feature. SMS messgaes are temporarily unavailbe in Australia and New Zealand.

Availability

United States: This functionality is currently live for all USA franchises.

Australia / New Zealand: SMS is temporarily unavailable. We’re sorting out some regulatory compliance requirements and we’ll need to update the Twilio integration accounts for all offices. This may take a few days.

Roadmap

This feature was announced in a CRM improvement planning session in February 2021 as part of our effort to support the bi-directional sending/receiving of SMS messages. In our upcoming releases we will introduce a new screen and notification system to let you know when SMS replies have been received.

From here you will also be able to reply to clients.
