For each custom field, the following information is available:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><b>Field Name<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Name of the custom field.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Contact Type<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type of the contact which the custom fields attributes to.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Field type<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Type of the custom field.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Digits\/Length<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Maximal number of digits\/characters which the field can store. This information varies depending on the field type.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Decimal Places<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Number of decimal places. This information is available for the number field only.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Required<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flag that the field is required. If no flag is shown, the custom field is optional.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Status<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A red label indicating that the custom field is deactivated. No label is shown for active custom fields.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can perform the following operations on custom fields:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">create new custom fields<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">edit the existing custom fields<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">deactivate the no longer needed custom fields<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">activate the deactivated custom fields<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Creating a Custom Text Field<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the <\/span><b>Custom Fields<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> tab, above the list of custom fields, click the <\/span><b>Add&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-204 alignnone\" The rest of modifications (such as change of the field type or its length) are not allowed.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with custom fields, locate the one you want to edit.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the custom field until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Edit&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-188 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/edit-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Edit custom field<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, make the appropriate modifications.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Deactivating the Custom Field<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can temporarily deactivate custom fields, so they will no longer appear on the Custom Fields tab in contacts of a specific type.
