You can use them to split your project into manageable chunks and organize them in the appropriate structure. Cost Centers are a fundamental part of Job Scheduling, Color Selection, and Ordering.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You need to define them immediately after the system launch. For each Cost Center the following information is available:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><b>Number<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A unique identifier of a Cost Center.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Name<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A name of a Cost Center.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Days in Schedule<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Default number of days allocated for the Cost Center in the Schedule.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>In Job Schedule<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Flag that the Cost Center is used in a Job Schedule.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can perform the following operations on Cost Centers:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">add new Cost Centers<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">edit the existing Cost Centers<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delete the no longer needed Cost Centers<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">undelete the deleted Cost Centers<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">manage suppliers within Cost Centers<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">view the usage of specific Cost Centers<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><b>To view deleted Cost Centers:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Above the list with Cost Centers, locate the Show deleted toggle.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the toggle right.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Adding a Cost Center<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Above the list with Cost Centers, click the <\/span><b>Add&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-204 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/create-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"20\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-573\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1625\" height=\"813\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center.png 1625w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center-1024x512.png 1024w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center-1536x768.png 1536w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-cost-center-1200x600.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1625px) 100vw, 1625px\" \/><\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the <\/span><b>Create Cost Center<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page, specify information about a Cost Center, as follows:<\/span><br>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Number<\/b><\/td>\n<td>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">enter a unique identifier of a Cost Center within the range from 001 to 998. The following identifiers are reserved by the system:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">000 Components<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">999 System Use<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Name<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter the name of Cost Center.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Days in Schedule<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter the number of days in schedule.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>In Job Schedule<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the box to include the Cost Center into the job schedule.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once you save the Cost Center, you will be prompted to add the Cost Center to all house plans and job estimates. Click <\/span><b>YES<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><b>NO<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> accordingly.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Managing Preferred Suppliers for Cost Centers<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While adding new Cost Centers or editing the existing ones, you can manage preferred suppliers within them. You can either add the existing suppliers or create new suppliers.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>To add the existing suppliers:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Find&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-247 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/quote-add-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"20\" height=\"14\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-574\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/find-creditor-supplier-form.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"601\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/find-creditor-supplier-form.png 800w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/find-creditor-supplier-form-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/find-creditor-supplier-form-768x577.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Find Creditor\/Supplier<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, search look up for a specific supplier or scroll down through the list.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the appropriate supplier.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click <\/span><b>Add Selected<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can add suppliers one at a time. To add more than one supplier, follow the same procedure.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>To create a new supplier:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">See the <\/span><b>Configuring Creditor\/Supplier Contact Type<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> section.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> (add link)<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>To select the preferred supplier:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with suppliers, locate the one you want to mark as preferred.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Check the circle in the Preferred column.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>To remove a supplier:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with suppliers, locate the one you want to remove.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the supplier, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Remove<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> button.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To save modifications in the set of suppliers within your Cost Center, click <\/span><b>Process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Editing the Cost Center<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Cost Centers, locate the one you want to edit.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Cost Center, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Edit&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-188 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/edit-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the <\/span><b>Edit Cost Center<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> page, make the appropriate modifications.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Process<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you change the number identifier of the Cost Center, it will be automatically updated in all the entities where it was already in use.<\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Viewing Usage of the Cost Center<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Cost Centers, locate the one which usage you are interested in.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Cost Center, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Display Usage&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-258 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/memo-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"18\" height=\"18\"><\/b>&nbsp;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Cost Center Use<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, you can see all the entities where the Cost Center is used.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, close the form.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Deleting the Cost Center<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Cost Centers, locate the one you want to delete.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Cost Center, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Delete&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-558 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/undelete-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"12\" height=\"16\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the appeared form, confirm the operation.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you delete the Cost Center, it will be preserved in all the entities where it was already in use. But this Cost Center will be no longer available for adding into new entities after the deletion.<\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Undeleting the Cost Center<\/b><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can undelete the deleted Cost Center and further use it in the system.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enable display of deleted Cost Centers.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Cost Centers, locate the one you want to undelete.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Cost Center, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Undelete&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-557 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/mark-deleted-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"18\" height=\"14\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the appeared form, confirm the operation.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cost Centers are basic building blocks of estimating.
