The system treats them as measurements that you can determine from the plan. You can further use them for preparing House Plan Estimates, Job Estimates, and RFQ Quick Quotes and producing the Bill of Materials (BoM). You can also reference Take Off Parameters in formulas by their names while working on BoM.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can leave a memo to add a description to the ToP. You can change the name of the existing Take Off Parameter or delete the ToP, and it will be automatically updated throughout the system. For each ToP the following information is available:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><b>Code<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A unique identifier of a Take Off Parameter.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Description<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Description of a Take Off Parameter.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>GTO UoM<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unit of Measure for using in GTO. It is also used to format the Take Off Parameter values in House Plan and Job estimates.<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system supports three measurement units:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Length (ft)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Area (ft2)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Count (count)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>GTO Style<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Graphical style which is applied when GTO marks the scanned drawing to indicate that you have taken a particular measurement. The system uses this style to fill the line.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>GTO Color<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Color which is applied when GTO marks the scanned drawing to indicate that you have taken a particular measurement. The system uses this style to color the line.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can perform the following operations on Take Off Parameters:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">add new Take Off Parameters<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">edit the existing Take Off Parameters<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delete the no longer needed Take Off Parameters<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">undelete the deleted Take Off Parameters<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Adding a Take Off Parameter<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Above the list with Take of Parameters, click the <\/span><b>Add<\/b>&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-204 alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/create-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"20\">&nbsp;<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">icon.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-609\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-take-off-param-form.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"419\" height=\"421\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-take-off-param-form.png 419w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-take-off-param-form-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-take-off-param-form-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 419px) 100vw, 419px\" \/><\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Create Take Off Param<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, specify information about a new Take Off Parameter, as follows:<\/span><br>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Code<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter a unique code of a Unit of Measure. The system tolerates alphanumeric characters (a..z, A..Z, 0..9) and the underscore. Spaces are NOT allowed.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>GTO UoM<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the Unit of Measure which is used in GTO.<\/span>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system supports three measurement units:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Length (ft)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Area (ft2)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Count (count)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For ToP&#8217;s which you do not plan to use in GTO (for example, ContractPrice) use $, other or just leave this field blank.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>GTO Style<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Select the graphical style which is applied when GTO marks the scanned drawing to indicate that you have taken a particular measurement. The system uses this style to fill the line.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>GTO Color<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pick the color which is applied when GTO marks the scanned drawing to indicate that you have taken a particular measurement. The system uses this color to color the line. Click the color circle and pick the color on the palette. To confirm the picked color, click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. Alternatively, you can enter the HEX code of the color.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Description<\/b><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enter description of the Take Off Parameter.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Editing the Take Off Parameter<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Take Off Parameters, locate the one you want to edit.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Take Off Parameter, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Edit&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-188 alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/edit-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Edit Take Off Param<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, make the appropriate modifications.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system does not update the Take Off Parameter throughout formulas where it was referenced. You need to update the code of the Take Off Parameter in all the formulas using it.<\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Deleting Take Off Parameter<\/b>s<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Take Off Parameters, locate the one you want to delete.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Take Off Parameter, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Delete&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-558 alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/undelete-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"12\" height=\"16\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the appeared form, confirm the operation.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system does not delete the Take Off Parameter throughout formulas where it was referenced. You need to remove the code of the Take Off Parameter in all the formulas using it. Otherwise, the system will continue using it for calculations.<\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You will no longer be able to use the deleted Take Off Parameter in new formulas after its removal.<\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Undeleting Take Off Parameters<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can restore the deleted Take Off Parameters and further use them in formulas for further calculations.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Above the list with Take Off Parameters, locate the <\/span><b>Show deleted<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> toggle.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Move the toggle right. The deleted Take Off Parameters will appear on the list. They will be highlighted with the red Deleted label.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Locate the Take Off Parameter you want to undelete.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over it until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Undelete&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"18\" height=\"14\" class=\"size-full wp-image-557 alignnone\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/mark-deleted-icon.png\" alt=\"\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You can use Take Off Parameters to quickly prepare house estimates.
