You need to define the Units of Measure which the system will further use for building Bills of Materials. They consider the properties of your Units of Measure when calculating Cutting Lists, results of constructed Formulas, and in the value rounding.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To manage Units of Measure, on the navigational sidebar, select <\/span><b>Setup<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once the Setup section expands, select <\/span><b>Estimating<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the tabbed menu, select <\/span><b>Units of Measure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-613\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1629\" height=\"815\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure.png 1629w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure-300x150.png 300w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure-1024x512.png 1024w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure-768x384.png 768w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure-1536x768.png 1536w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/setup-estimating-units-of-measure-1200x600.png 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1629px) 100vw, 1629px\" \/><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here you can see the list of Units of Measure (UoM) registered in the system. For each UoM the following information is available:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><b>Code<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A unique identifier of a Unit of Measure.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Description<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Description of a Unit of Measure.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Pieces<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Mark that the Unit of Measure deals with the cutting lists.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Dimension 1\/2\/3<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dimensions which the Unit of Measure relates to and need to be added for the cutting list.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Format Qty<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Format of number of digits before and after the decimal place for showing the Quantity.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><b>Round Up Qty<\/b><\/td><td><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Format of rounding for the Unit of Measure, e.g. 0.1 will round to the nearest 1\/10th.<\/span><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can perform the following operations on Components:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">add new Units of Measure<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">edit the existing Units of Measure<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">delete the no longer needed Units of Measure<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">undelete the deleted Units of Measure<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Adding a Unit of Measure<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Above the list with Units of Measure, click the <\/span><b>Add&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-204 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/create-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"20\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-614\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-unit-of-measure-form.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-unit-of-measure-form.png 480w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-unit-of-measure-form-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/create-unit-of-measure-form-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Create Unit of Measure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, specify information about a Unit of Measure, as follows:<\/span><br>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Code<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Enter a unique code of a Unit of Measure.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Dimension 1\/2\/3<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Select the dimensions if the Unit of Measure relates to the cutting lists. If needed, you can enter some custom dimension into the boxes instead of the pre-defined values.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Pieces<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Check the box to indicate that the Unit of Measure is comprised of pieces.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Format Quantity<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Specify the format of showing decimals in the Quantity. The default value is \u20188.2\u2019 which shows 2 decimals, for example 101.20. If you set format to \u20188.4\u2019 it will display 101.2000.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Round Up Quantity<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Specify the coefficient for rounding the resulting Quantity value. You can enter any valid number. The resulting quantity will be rounded using the provided number. If you enter 0.25 the resulting quantity will be rounded up so that it is divisible by 0.25. If the calculation is 100.01, the resulting quantity will be 100.25.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><b>Description<\/b><\/td>\n<td>Enter description of the Unit of Measure.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Editing the Unit of Measure<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Units of Measure, locate the one you want to edit.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Unit of Measure, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Edit&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-188 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/edit-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the <\/span><b>Edit Unit of Measure<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> form, make the appropriate modifications.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When complete, click <\/span><b>Save<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you change the code of the Unit of Measure, it will be automatically updated in all the entities where it was already in use. <\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The system does not perform any calculation when you edit Unit of Measures. You need to verify calculations yourself during this period. <\/span><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><b>Deleting the Unit of Measure<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On the list with Units of Measure, locate the one you want to delete.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hover over the Item, until the action icons appear.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Click the <\/span><b>Delete&nbsp;<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-558 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/builder-help.gjgardner.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/03\/undelete-icon.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"12\" height=\"16\"><\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> icon.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the appeared form, confirm the operation.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><b>Note<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You cannot delete Units of Measure that are already in use.<\/span><\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Units of Measure (further may be referred as UoM) are an essential part for preparing Bill of Materials (further may be referred as BoM).
