Soft launch of Knowledge Management Service (KMS)

We are excited to announce the soft launch of the Knowledge Management Service (KMS) which includes the Learning Management System (LMS) and Knowledge Base.  The vision is that the official “GJ Way” will live in the LMS and the Knowledge Base.

What’s changing? 

We’ve added a link to the new Learning Management System (LMS) and are rolling out a new and improved Knowledge Base to replace the Help Docs.

  • We’re rolling out the Sales and Estimating LMS courses at this time.
  • The new Knowledge Base is being rolled out gradually to replace the Help Doc.
  • This is a soft release to Masters and we will make a formal announcement in the new year to the broader network.

Who will have access?

This will be available for all franchisees and their staff in all regions.

Why it matters

As G.J. Gardner has grown and matured, so has the library of training content, documentation, and resources that we make available to our franchisees.  At the same time, there has been a divergence in processes between regions, which has led to a duplication of efforts and redundant, or sometimes even incorrect material.

To make matters more complicated, we’ve been making significant changes to our technology infrastructure, which has led to further redundancy of these materials. You can walk into any franchisee’s design center and find old, outdated manuals from 10+ years ago. As we continue to make improvements, even the most recent manual updates will also become outdated in the next year or so. 

That’s why we’re happy to announce the soft launch of our new LMS platform and share some of the updates we’ve been working on for the Help Docs. The official “GJ Way” will live in the LMS and the Knowledge Base and will serve as a repository for all software documentation and how-to articles.

Additional details 

These services are available and please consider this is a beta phase while we continue to make improvements.  While franchisees and staff are welcome to use them now, we will be making a more formal announcement in the New Year after we have improved a few areas. 

Learning Management System (LMS)

The GJ Software is integrated with the LMS, which can be accessed by clicking on Go To > Learning Management in the top menu bar.

A user account will be automatically created and they will be directed to the LMS dashboard where they will see available courses. These courses will continue to be updated, and we will be adding more role-specific courses throughout 2021. 

If you get an error when trying to log in, please close the window and try again. This is something we’re working on. 

Knowledge Base

We’re excited to introduce a new and improved Knowledge Base to replace the existing Help Docs access via the Help icon in the top menu. We’re still in the process of consolidating and organizing the existing content. We’re also still adding new content as well as specific how-to articles. 

Some of the biggest improvements include making it more searchable and easier to find what you’re looking for. Over the next few weeks, we will begin redirecting each page on the existing help doc to the new Knowledge Base.  We’re still working on translating content for each region, but you’re welcome to check it out and provide feedback. https://help.gjgardner.com 

Rollout pace 

The LMS portal is live right now for Sales and Estimating.  We will be constantly considering  improvements to this content and then implementing additional training modules throughout the New Year.  The new Knowledge Base is also live and we expect to complete redirecting the old Help Doc articles by the end of January.  Both of these services will continue to be updated and improved upon in the weeks, months, and years to come.
