Upgrade from G Suite Basic to Google Workspace Enterprise

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

What’s changing

We upgraded to a premium enterprise-grade version of Google Workspace from G Suite Basic. In addition to all the features included with G Suite Basic, Google Workspace Enterprise has a number of premium business-grade services.

  • Unlimited Google Drive storage, shared team drives, and cloud search
  • Advanced chat rooms, Google meeting controls, and team collaboration
  • Enhanced security protection and data retention policies with Google Vault.

Who’s impacted

All Google users in all regions within our domains – Australia, New Zealand and the US.

Note: Users who previously paid to upgrade their Drive file storage will need to manually cancel their subscription.

Why it matters

Last year Google announced that G Suite was being retired and they introduced Google Workspace and communicated that customers with more than 300 users would be required to move onto one of their Enterprise plans. This comes with a significant increase in our IT costs.

  • Google accounts are paid for with the monthly service fees for G.J. Software.
  • We are not increasing the monthly service cost for Franchises at this time.
  • We will re-evaluate our IT budget and revisit this decision later this year.

Our goal is to keep costs as low as possible for our Franchisees while continuing to deliver world-class technology services that help increase sales productivity and improve the customer experience. Google Workspace is a mission-critical service in our tech stack. Not only does it serve as our identity provider and help us manage risk, core services including Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Docs are tightly integrated with our software applications. Google Workspace is one of our largest IT expenditures and it’s important we make investments in it so that we can continue to bring the Joy of Building to our clients.
